Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry exhibit Smart Home: Green + Wired, Powered by ComEd allows guests to tour a functioning three-story, modular and sustainable “green” home that highlights unique eco-friendly technologies and products for the 21st century. The freshly updated exhibit home will be open from March 19, 2009 through Jan. 3, 2010 and is proudly sponsored by ComEd, Dominick’s and the Motorola Foundation.  | The Z-Bar™ High Power LED desk lamp received the Platinum ADEX,
the highest award possible, while the i-Tower™ High Power LED floor lamp
received the Silver ADEX. ADEX stands for Awards for Design Excellence and is
the largest and most prestigious awards program for product design of furniture,
fixtures and finishes marketed to the design trade.
Design Journal, the international trade publication for interior designers,
architects and facility managers is the sponsor of the ADEX Awards. An
anonymous panel of professionals representing a cross section of the design
industry conducts all voting for the ADEX Awards. Judges are among the ablest
in their areas of expertise and judge entries in their respective specialties. Each
category has potential for three award levels of platinum, gold or silver. Judges
award points in several categories for each entry. Total points earned determine
each product’s score. Minimum scores are needed to qualify for awards. Winners
are published each April in Design Journal. |

Category" in International Design (I.D.) Magazine's 2006 Annual Design Review in the category of Furniture. The results will be covered in I.D.'s August issue. "Best of
Category" is the highest award given, followed by "Design Distinction" and "Honorable Mention". |

selected by Die Neue Sammlung, Munich, the State Museum of Applied Arts
and Design, to be included as part of its permanent collection.
Die Neue Sammlung was established in 1907 and is one of the leading
museums for 20th and 21st century applied arts. Its core mission is the
creation of a "modern collection of exemplary items" to chronicle outstanding
contemporary developments in design in the 20th and 21st centuries. The museum's collection is
continuously extended by carefully selected examples and Koncept is proud
to have the Z-Bar included in the museum's collection. |
