Z-Bar LED desk lamp was featured in The Tech Buyer's Guide section of TIME Magazine's "Best Inventions Of The Year" feature in the Nov. 12, 2007 issue.
Designer Peter Ng is thrilled and says "I had always wanted to make a lamp with such a design, but it wasn't until bright white LEDs became a reality that a practical lamp was really possible."
The Z-Bar lamp uses 66 energy efficient, long lasting super bright white LEDs to illuminate a desktop about as brightly as a 60-watt incandescent while using only 9.6 watts of electricity.
Koncept is proud to announce that its Z-Bar LED Desk Lamp has won "Best of
Category" in International Design (I.D.) Magazine's 2006 Annual Design Review in the category of Furniture. The results will be covered in I.D.'s August issue. "Best of
Category" is the highest award given, followed by "Design Distinction" and "Honorable Mention".
The Z-Bar packs 66 super bright white LEDs into an elegant, ultra thin body to bring clean white light right where you need it. The super bright white LEDs are energy efficient, last 30 times longer than a regular bulb, and are low heat.
Koncept is proud to announce that the Z-Bar LED desk lamp has been
selected by Die Neue Sammlung, Munich, the State Museum of Applied Arts
and Design, to be included as part of its permanent collection.
Die Neue Sammlung was established in 1907 and is one of the leading
museums for 20th and 21st century applied arts. Its core mission is the
creation of a "modern collection of exemplary items" to chronicle outstanding
contemporary developments in design in the 20th and 21st centuries. The museum's collection is
continuously extended by carefully selected examples and Koncept is proud
to have the Z-Bar included in the museum's collection.
